Mrs. Methven was employed as a hostess. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Norwood, where she lived for 24 years after having lived in East Walpole.
Surviving are a son, James D. Methven Jr. of Corning, N.Y.; a daughter, Eileen Sherman of Wisconsin; and six grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church, Norwood. Burial is in Union Cemetery, Chatham.
