OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
Robert James Gatchel Jr., 54, 549 Superior St., died at 9:54 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at his home.

He was born on March 4, 1949, in Wabash, to Robert James Sr. and Melba Deloris (Bitzel) Gatchel. They survive in Wabash. He married Juanita Jackson on Nov. 21, 1980, in Mentone. She survives.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was employed at the Manchester Foundry for three years. He had also been a construction worker. He was a member of the Colerain Street Community Church.

Also surviving are four sons, Robert James (Melissa) Gatchel III and Jason (Ashley) Gatchel, both of Burnside, Ky., and Kenneth (Rosie) Gatchel and Ryan Gatchel, both of Wabash; four daughters, Michelle Gatchel, Burnside, Ky., and Mrs. Bruce (Ann) Shroll, Tabitha Gatchel and Tanya Marie Gatchel, all of Wabash; one sister, Mrs. James (Pandora) Miller, Weston, Fla.; two brothers, Randy (Cindi) Gatchel, Wabash, and Ronald (Deb) Gatchel, Laketon; and 17 grandchildren. One sister is deceased.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Colerain Street Community Church. The Rev. Mike Weaver will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services Friday. The Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
