In June of 1880, James BENNETT, a policeman age 33, his wife Elizabeth, 34, and their son, James, 8, were boarding with James' sister, Harriet HINELY, age 40, a widow keeping a boarding house at 16 Gordon Street in Savannah.
In 1882, James G. BENNETT was a carpenter for the S.F.&W. Railway, boarding at 208 Wayne Street.
In 1897 in Chatham County, James Gordon BENNETT married Rosa May MCGUIRE (born about 1877 in Georgia of an Irish father, she died in 1934).
