Funeral services will be held at 2 pm today at the Mount Zion Christian Church, Tuscumbia, for Walter W. Abbett, 51, of 412 E. State St., with the Rev. F.A. Braden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Abbett died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. He had been in ill health for about 18 years.

Mr. Abbett was born Jan. 20, 1905, at Tuscumbia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew T. Abbett. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Homer Lipscomb, Dixon, and Mrs. William Reed, Washington, Mo.; and four brothers, Milo, Thomas, Harvey and Raymond Abbett, all of Jefferson City.

He operated a taxi cab in Jefferson City for several years.
