Larry Dale Walker, age 60, of Mena, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Little Rock , Arkansas . He was born May 23, 1949 in Mena , Arkansas to the late Dewey Walker and the late Florence Smedley Walker. He was united in marriage to Regina Shrader on December 17, 1971. He was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. Larry was the local manager of Midway Motor Freight Lines in Mena for 27 years, and transfer driver for Southern Disposal for the past 15 years. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by: Wife: Regina Walker Sons: Kyle Walker and wife Marlene of Mena , Arkansas Ryan Walker of Waldron , Arkansas Grandchildren: Alden and Dori Ann Walker Brothers: David Walker and wife Cloma of Mena , Arkansas Charles Odom and wife Estelle of Conroe, Texas Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Florence Walker. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Pinecrest Memorial Park with Brother Robert Mitchell officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening, December 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Witness Quartet will provide a memorial tribute for the service. Memorials may be made to the Mena Elks Lodge Children's Christmas Fund, Scott County Boys and Girls Club, P. O. Box 1013 , Waldron , Arkansas or a Children's Charity of one's choice.
