SOLDIER – Joseph Phillip "Joe" Anweiler, 80, of Soldier died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Medicalodges Jackson County. He was born November 23, 1929 in Topeka, KS. The son of Henry Emil and Pearl Marie Kuykendall Anweiler. He graduated from Mayetta High School in 1947. He was a truck driver for Sunbeam & Buttercrust Bread. He owned Anweiler Insurance & Real Estate Inc. for 40 years. He was a member of the Eagles, NTSC, the Holton and Circleville Saddle Clubs, NEKSAG, Holton Rotary, and the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was attending Bucks Grove United Methodist Church. He served in the Army and Air Force. Joe married Judy Watkins on January 7, 1956 in Holton. She survives. Joe is also survived by a daughter, Sandy Bottom and her husband, Terry of Soldier; grandchildren, Derek Bottom and his wife, Amanda and Tracee Hewitt and her husband, Scott; great grandchildren, Cheyennee and Lakota Hewitt and Andrew, Clairissa, Terrance, and James Bottom. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Anweiler in September 24, 1971. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Soldier Cemetery.
