Services for Chester E. Adams, 64, of 1805 Teall Ave., who died Saturday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, will be at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Daniel's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 514 Turtle St.

A native of Scranton, Pa., Mr. Adams lived in Syracuse for 40 years. Mr. Adams was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation before his retirement in 1987.

He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II.

He was a communicant of St. Daniel's Church in Syracuse.

Surviving are his wife, Viola Simaneau Adams; three sons, Gregg E. of North Carolina, and Gary R. and Geoffrey P., both of Syracuse; a daughter, Lynette Marie Hajduk of Texas; a brother, Leonard Adams of Tarrytown; a sister, Loretta Rybak of Mattydale; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
