Wapello (IA) -- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran church at Mediapolis for Harry L. Dotson, who died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home near Newport.

Mr. Dotson, 65, was active in community affairs, and at the time of his death was a director of the Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church at Mediapolis, and served as deacon for a number of years.

Mr. Dotson had spent his entire life on the farm on which he was born, except for Army duty during World War I. He was born near Newport, December 27, 1893, the son of George W. and Mary L. Dotson.

He was married September 17, 1919, to Inez M. Johnson.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Marie Baird of Wapello and Harriet M. Kennedy of Yarmouth; three brothers. Lee E. Dotson of Phoenix, Arizona, S. D. [Samuel David] Dotson of Wapello and R. T. [Ralph Thomas] Dotson of LeGrand; two sisters, Mrs. Velda D. Mullins of Corvallis, Oregon, and Iva M. Dotson of Burlington; five grandchildren, and one great grandson.
