JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Melvin T. Bosarge Sr., a former insulator with the civil service, died Friday. He was 75.
A native of Grand Bay, Bosarge had lived in the Mobile and Bayou La Batre areas before moving to Jacksonsville in 1957. While in Alabama, he worked as an oysterman.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include four daughters, Melva Lyons, Sylvia Crosby, Christine Bass and Rachel Plott; one son, Roger Bosarge; one sister, Annie Laura Tillman of Bayou La Batre; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Inman United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with interment in Edgewood Cemetery.
