MRS. JANE LOUGH

The many friends were shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Jane Lough, which occurred at her home in this city Monday afternoon, June 8, 1903. She suffered a stroke of paralysis at two o'clock and lived but two hours.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. F. Sanderson, were held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock after which the remains were interred in the Chariton cemetery.

Miss Jane Norris was born in Clark county, Indiana, on January 11, 1822. With her parents she came to Chariton in 1856 and has since resided here. She was married in 1859 to Mr. John Lough who passed away several years ago.

During her long residence here Mrs. Lough made a host of warm friends to whom her death comes as a personal loss. She was quiet and unassuming in her manner but possessed to an unusual degree those lovable womanly qualities that are always so much admired.

She leaves two brothers and two sisters to mourn her death. They are Isaac Norris and Mrs. D. C. Bowen of this city, Geo. E. Norris of Kearney, Nebraska, and Mrs. Sarah M. Jones, of Lebanon, Kansas. These sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
