Eloise Allen, Winterset

Eloise T. Allen, 74, of Winterset, died of complications of Alzheimer's Disease on Nov. 5, 1995 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson will officiate the services and burial will be at the North McDonald Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in Winterset on June 4, 1921, to Ernest Waldon and Grace Kathryn (Campbell) Travis. She married Myron Park Allen Sr., on Sept. 16, 1940 at Boone. She was a retired nurse having worked for the Madison County Memorial Hospital, Horton's Nursing Home, Care Center North, and the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset and a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Past Noble Grand and other offices; American Legion Auxiliary; Christian Women's Fellowship; and the Winter-Sets Square Dance Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Myron Park Allen and wife Rhonda of Macksburg, Stephen LeRoy Allen and wife Judy of Winterset, and Timothy Brian Allen of Winterset; one daughter, Claudia Rae Mozena and husband Larry of Urbandale; one brother, Ernest Travis of Maxwell; one sister Ruth Mildred Clark of Winterset; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church in Winterset of the Alzheimer's Support Group.
