Ruth Genett (Brinker) Barlett was born in Porter township, Sept. 16, 1899, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Loemma (Mohney) Brinker. Dissolution came peacefully at 10:15, Thursday morning, Dec. 9, 1926 of uremic poison, after nine days of intense suffering. She was aged 27 years, 2 months and 22 days. On Jan. 27, 1921, she was married to William I. Barlett, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Barlett of this place, who with one son, Paul DeWayne, aged 3 survives. Her mother and the following brothers and sisters survive her father having been called to his reward just two weeks previously: Mrs. Blaine Johnson, Vandergrift; Mrs. Grover Delp, Porter township; Charles Brinker, Porter township; Austin, Russell and Dorothy at home. One brother preceded her in death five years ago. Ruth was a happy friend to every one, always had a smiling face. Their married life together was very beautiful and happy. She was a memeber of the Leatherwood Presbyterian church which she joined in younger years. All thru her suffering Ruth prayed that God would spare her to live here with us. But God knows best, and the pale horse and his rider came in at the hour mentioned and claimed our loved one. Sunday at 1:30, a prayer was held in the Barlett home, near Leatherwood, after which the remains were taken to the Leatherwood Presbyterian church, where impressive services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. R. E. Keirn. Numerous and beautiful floral tributes attested to the love and respect for the deceased whose future was most promising. At the conclusion of the service the body was laid to rest in the Presbyterian cemetery under the direction of Chas. White of New Bethlehem.
