Mrs. Matteson Dies Thursday
Complications Fatal to Jackson Township Resident – Funeral Saturday
Complications caused the death of Mrs. Fanny J. Matteson 89, Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S.S. Robertson northwest of Richwood, with whom she resided. She was a member of the Union Baptist church.
Mrs. Matteson, daughter of John M Andrews and Susan Dixon Andrews, was born in Jackson Township, Union County, February 14, 1847. Her husband, Sheldon Matteson, died fifty-seven years ago.
Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Robertson, four grand children, six great grand children also three half brothers, Henry and George Andrews of Kansas and William Andrews of Montana. A daughter Della died in 1900 and a son, John died in 1904.
Rev Forsythe conducted the funeral services, Saturday afternoon at the 2 o'clock in the S.R. Sanders funeral home. Burial in charge of S. R. Sanders was made din Price Cemetery, north of Essex.
