Iris Elaine (Grund) Chisam, 69, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at her home in Kansas City, KS. The Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, November 30, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., KCK. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, at the Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th Street, KCK, with the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Catholic Charities.
Elaine was born on September 30, 1940 in Sharon Springs, KS, to Leslie and Juanita Grund. She was the third of eight children. She was a member of Christ the King Church.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Joel Ray Chisam, and sister, Lita Kay Grund. Surviving her are her four children: Brian(Julie) Chisam, Darren (Brenda) Chisam, Michelle (David) Stutheit, and Dustin Chisam; and her grandchildren Matt, Lauren, Will, and Graci Chisam, and Jackson Stutheit; siblings, Allen Grund, Evan (Delores) Grund, Lenora (David) Dyer, Navene (Eirv) Rains, Jane (Ron) Kreigh, and Layal (Donna) Grund.
