William Cosselman Collins was born 1809 in New York and migrated to Texas on January 1, 1839. He received a grant of land from the State Of Texas in the county of Nacadoches. He stayed there until about 1851 and then moved to Bastrop County. He served in the 12th Texas Field Battery C.S.A. during the Civil War. William married Cornelia Ann Perry on 20 September 1865 in Bastrop County Texas. They resided there in Bastrop County until 1880 when he is shown living in the household of A.C. Clements. William died in Burnet, Tx on 12 November 1901 and is buried in the Mahomet Cemetery in Burnet Count, Texas. His heirs are eligible for Daughters Of The Republic Of Texas and Daughters Of The Confederacy.
