LAWRENCE--Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa, for Christopher Joseph Nourot, 23, Lawrence, formerly of Ottawa. He died early Sunday, Jan. 22, in a two-vehicle accident in Lawrence. The northbound car he was driving collided with an east bound auto at an intersection, Lawrence police said.
He was born Dec. 23, 1960, at Akron, Ohio, the son of Richard and Carlene Moore Nourot. He lived at Ottawa about 12 years before he moved to Lawrence about four years ago. In 1979 he graduated from Wellsville High School where he was a national honor student and was active in debate and forensics. He graduated from KU with a degree in journalism in 1963.
Mr. Nourot was a graduate student in the KU School of Law.
He was a member of Theta Chi social fraternity at Lawrence and of the Full-o-Pep 4-H Club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, both at Ottawa. He formerly coached a little league baseball team at Wellsville.
He married Alice Raben Aug. 13, 1983, at Russell. She survives.
He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nourot, rural Ottawa; a brother, Peter Nourot and a sister, Nancy Nourot, both of rural Ottawa.
