Johnny Lynn Furtick, 42, of 184 Graphic Drive, Cordova, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Palmetto Baptist in Columbia after a long battle with leukemia.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg with the Rev. Frank Hay and the Rev. James Kight officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Hutto, David Hutto, David Wise, Randy Wise, George Brunson, Jimmy Smith, Fred Benton and Jackie Boltin.

Honorary pallbearers will be all men of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Furtick was born October 3, 1963 in Orangeburg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Furtick of Orangeburg. He was previously employed by the Okonite Company. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Brotherhood, Cope. He was an avid hunter and loved the great outdoors. He coached Dixie Youth baseball for 10 years before becoming ill. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Boltin and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hunt Furtick.
