Death Of Victor Buchanan

A veteran of the civil war died Wednesday afternoon after an illness of several months. His death was due to the infirmities of age he being 79 years 8 months 20 days old at death. He was born in Mercer County, Penn. July 26, 1831. He moved to Nebraska where he lived about a year and since that time he has lived near Sprague and Tyler. He was a member of Co. K, 1st Nebraska Infantry and served his country from July 16-61 to Nov. 9 65, when he was honorably discharged. He leaves two daughters Mrs. Zimmerman of Sprague and Mrs. Jones of Wardner, Ida., besides three brothers, one in Iowa, one in Kellogg Ida., and one near Tyler. His wife and three children preceded him in death. The funeral was held this afternoon at 1:30 from the Congregational church Rev. Edwards officiating and the body was laid to rest in Lake View Cemetery. ref: Sprague Advocate 7 April 1911
