Visitation for Lisbeth Lora (Tomta) Carothers, 35, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport. Service will follow at noon Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Egypt Cemetery in Davenport.

Mrs. Carothers, who was born in Spokane, died Sunday.

She graduated in 1980 from Lewis and Clark High School and was involved in many activities and organizations.

Mrs. Carothers was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport.

She moved to Davenport five years ago and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, TJ; five daughters, Nada, Mary, April, Alex and Simone Carothers, all at home; her parents, Jan and Dolores Tomta of Spokane; two sisters, Karlyn Tomta of Omaha, Neb., and Joanne Grenlund of Puyallup, Wash.; and her grandmother, Louise Reinbold of Davenport.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.

Pastor Mark Egertson will officiate and interment will be at the Egypt Cemetery. Mrs Tomta-Carothers will lie-in-state this morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church. A lifelong resident of Spokane and Davenport, Mrs Tomta-Carothers passed away March 1. She was 35. Lis is remembered as a creative, loving and devoted daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife and mother. A 1980 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, she was involved in many activities and organizations. Mrs Tomta-Carothers is survived by her husband T J (Jan) Carothers, and five daughters, Nada, Mary, April, Alex and Simone, all at the home; her parents, Jan and Dolores Tomta of Spokane; two sisters, Karlyn Tomta of Omaha, NE, and Joanne and her husband Steve Grenlund of Puyallup; one niece, Erica Andra Grenlund; grandmother Louise Reinbold of Davenport; her father- and mother-in-law, Andy and Cathy Carothers of Spokane; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Norway; one uncle and aunt and many cousins in the United States; and many, many friends."
