MISS LYDA BROWN
CHESTERTON--Miss Lyda Brown, 155 Indiana Avenue, died at 11:45 pm Thursday in Porter Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was a life-long resident of Chesterton and the daughter of Frank and Catherine Brown. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be held at 10 am Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
. . Pallbearers will be Owen Gavangan, Bart Cunningham, Henry Ameling, John Nicholson, William Ruhe and Richard Cauffman.

$20,000 Estate is Bequeathed to Charities
Distribution of a Chesterton woman's estate of more than $20,000 to various charities has been approved, Superior Judge J.A. Fleishbein announced this morning. Major portions of the estate of Lyda R. Brown was divided equally among a Catholic seminary in Belville, Ill., Father Flanagan's Boys' Home, Boys' Town, Neb., and the Edmonite Mission Home. Minor bequests were made...to several Catholic foreign missions. The .. judge pointed out today that this was one of the few cases he had seen where the deceased had bequeathed the entire estate to charity. Att. Malcolm Anderson, Chesterton, was Miss Brown's legal adviser.
