Effie Griffin Allen, 88, of 212 Greenwood Street, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 21, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery. Mrs. Allen was born Feburary 6, 1921 in Mayodan, NC, daughter of the late George and Lessie Campbell Griffin. She was a retiree of Morehead Mills and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her three daughters, Patricia Kerulis of Sunrise, FL, Vickie Jacobs of Sulphur, LA, and June Allen of Eden; one sister, Marion Walker of Lebanon, TN; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen.
