"Bennie" as she was fondly known to her family and friends was a homemaker; a member of the Catholic Church and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer Center.
Survivors include her husband, Luis A. Aldaz of the family home; four daughters, Gaby Castillo and husband Danny, Mary Apodaca and husband Danny, Sylvia Aldaz, and Dora Apodaca and husband Mike all of Las Cruces; a sister, Bessie Lucero and husband Processo of Mountainair. Other survivors include sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Alejo Aldaz; two sisters, Alice Pace and Maria Gomez; six brothers, Margarito, Florencio, Antonio, Paz, Higinio and Hermenes Lopez.
Visitation for Bennie will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 in the same church with Reverend Sean Garrity officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
Serving as casket bearers will be Daniel Jr., Chris and Donnie Apodaca, Edward R. Leza II, Christopher Castillo and Alejo Aldaz, Jr.
