Oliver Peck married Fear Foster of Cumberland, RI, April 22, 1759 by Job Bartlett, Justice of the Peace. They had nine children. He first moved to Fishkill in Dutchess County, NY, where he enlisted in the Revolutionary war in 1775. After that he moved to Herkimer County, NY, via the Hudson and Mohawk rivers. His letter of administration administered by son Ira is at the Herkimer court house and he may have been buried in the Norway cemetery. Perhaps he was given land in Norway, NY on the edge of the Adirondacks, as payment for his military service. Most of his offspring left the area, the winters are harsh and the growing season short. It is not known if his wife Fear Foster Peck died in Norway, NY or previously in Fishkill or perhaps back in Cumberland, RI.
