Dasher, Sandra Laureen Howell
Sandra Laureen Howell Dasher, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Nov. 15, 2009, at the age of 61 after a short, sudden illness. She was born Aug. 15, 1948, to Ardell Howell and Ada Maude McLeod Howell. Sandra attended Lake Park High School in Lowndes County and Georgia Christian School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ. She was employed by United Hospice of Valdosta as a certified Nurse's Aid. Since the age of 17 Sandra's career was caring for others in their times of need.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her brother, Billy Howell. She is survived by her daughter, April Laureen Dasher; and her sisters, Georgia Ann (Jerry) Dykes, and Brenda (Chris) Gallagher; her uncles, J.J. Howell and J.R. Howell; and aunt Jean Howell. She is also survived by her nieces, Beverly (Rod) Brown, Teresa (Bobby) Bobbitt, Sheila (Chris) Grubbs, Jeri McCoy, Jill (Kevin) Grondahl, Julie Dukes; a nephew, Sid (Sandra) Howell, five "almost-grandchildren," Matt and Evan McCoy, Emily Grondahl, Nathan Brown and Anna (Lincoln) Waddell; as well as special cousins, Ashley McLeod and family and Lisa Howell and family; and numerous other cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Charlie Wilson, Minister of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hightower Cemetery.
