Reba L. Chudej, age 66, of West passed away Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

A rosary was recited at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 4:15 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery near West.

Mrs. Chudej was born on December 3, 1945, in Groesbeck; the daughter of Leonard and Mamie Barfield. She attended schools in Tokio. She married Daniel Chudej on January 18, 1954, in West. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1990.

She was a housewife and homemaker and had worked at Ole Czech Bakery for 13 years before retiring in 1994. Reba enjoyed gardening, cooking and quilting. She was a member of KJZT Society #11 and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West.

She is preceded in death by a son Charles Calvin Chudej, who died in 1990; a daughter, Debbie Chudej, who died in 1959; and a granddaughter, Jaime Chudej, who died in 1997.

She is survived by two sons, Walter Eugene Chudej of Waco and Kevin Lee Chudej of Mexia; two daughters, Carolyn Christine Hill and husband Donald Edward of Gause and Kimberly Diane Chudej of West; eleven grandchildren, Jason Chudej, Samantha Chudej, Monica Chudej, Karen Chudej, Jennifer Trowbridge, Cody Chudej, Matthew Chudej, Kristen Chudej, Joshua Chudej, J.D. Arjon, and Ethan Arjon; and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Jordan, and Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Jason Chudej, Juan Arjon, Cody Chudej, Matt Chudej, Kevin Chudej and Gene Chudej.

Aderhold Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
