OBITUARY
LEILA MAE McDONALD
Leila Mae McDonald, daughter of George and Laura Duckworth went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 6, 2008. Leila was born February 7, 1914 in Lucas County, Iowa. She passed away at Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 94 years and 28 days.
Leila accepted Christ as her saviour in the early years of her life. She was married to Harry McDonald, and to this union was born one daughter, Harriett Lea. Leila was later married to Dean Boozell, and to this union were born sons Richard Dean and Gail Dwight.
Leila was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gail Dwight, and brothers, Verlyn, Leland, Ward and Duane, and sister, Dorotha.
One of Leila's greatest joys was when she could bake pies and homemade rolls and give to those around her.
Leila is survived by daughter, Harriett Dorsey of Centerville and son, Richard Boozell (Janet) of Chariton. She is also survived by sisters Wilma Hutchison, Jean Halferty, and grandchildren Dennis, Marcia, Kendall, Mary, Deborah, Carolyn, Mark, Rick, Curtis, Deborah and Kathryn, and a great host of great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Bearers were Dan Boozell, Scott Maier, Curtis Boozell, Mark Robison, Kendall Robison and Don Charleston. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
