Deacon Thomas Welles was the son of CAPT. THOMAS and ELIZABETH (BOURNE) WELLES and the twin of Robert Welles. He married Elizabeth (unknown)and inherited from his grandfather, GOV. THOMAS WELLS, 348 acres of land on the east side of the river in June, 1675. He along with Joseph Curtis, James Judson, Samuel Sherman, & AMBROSE THOMPSON were part of a committee to take care of the church elders & their messengers during an ordination in the church.
He died at age 70 years.
