You fulfilled your promise, you never fired a round. Yet you gave your life, a dear friend and brother in Christ. I have remembered you for 41 years. Soon we shall be reunited in Heaven. Until then my friend. Rev Willis C. Pearson.
The men of 3rd platoon will never forget you. Steve Benton (Buzz).
Death of a Minister: James was a dedicated Christian and minister. I had just got back from Viet Nam to find that James was home on leave and had received orders for Viet Nam. I assured him that I had come home safe and that God would do the same for him. That was the last conversation we had. I often wonder what Great Thing He could have done. I still see his boyish smile as we said good by. I am typing this on 8/1/2001, and I still miss Him. Doug Adams, Friend, 746 Woodland Ave, Plainfield, NJ 07062.
See You After Awhile. CPL James Ray Knight, When I think about the last time I saw you, it was the month of September 1968 in Vietnam. Tears still swell up in my eyes. I remember us talking and laughing and making plans for when you returned home. I remember some of the last words I said were, be safe and you are in my prayers. You were in my prayers in Sept 1968 and you and your family continue to be in my prayers. Because of the evil in this world people like you are still dying so that others may live free. I love you man. Be at rest until that Great Day. Fred W. Samuel Jr.
