A. Kenneth Fry 78, of Winfield, Ill., formerly of Webster, died June 8, 2007 in Rochelle, Ill. He was born Dec. 3, 1928, in rural Webster to Isaac and Mabel Fry.

He was graduated from Webster High School in 1946, and entered the U.S. Marine Corps.

He met Minnie Souer in 1949, and they were married in Thornburg in 1951. On June 2 they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

Ken was graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College, and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He later received a masters degree in administration. That began a 22-year career as Turner Elementary School Principal in West Chicago.

Ken was a charter member of Faith Community Church in West Chicage, a member of the Lions Club, Ouarterback Club, volunteer for the Illinois Food bank, PADS and was involved in several other church activities.

Never missing a Super Bowl party in 40 years and flying around the world in 80 hours were only two of his many joys. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling. Up until the time of his death, June 9, he would assure friends that he "was only 28-years old, and would celebrate his fifty-first annual 29th birthday Dec.3."

He is survived by his wife Minnie, two sons Kenneth (Carol) Fry of St. Charles and Larry (Linda) Fry of Washington state, six grandchildren, Mindy (Jim) Andrew, Kathleen, Cassandra, Joseph, Eric and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents Isaac and Mabel Fry and one sister, Edna Stratton.

Services were june 16 at the Webster Methodist Church with burial at Sorden Cemetery near Webster. Arrangements were by Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.
