Danette Marie (Skubitz) Corriston, 46, passed quietly, after a long courageous battle with cancer, on July 29, 2005. Rosary and service were held at Church of the Magdalen. She attended school at the Church of the Magdalen, graduated from Southeast High School in 1977 and attended Wichita State University.
Danette served our community as a foster mother to twenty-five children.
Danette was employed as office manager for Allegiant GMAC Realty Company. She was preceded in death by her father, Dan J. Skubitz, grandparents; Congressman Joe and Mary Jess Skubitz and Robert W. Mayhew and is survived by her husband, Edward Corriston, children, Ashleigh Epperly, Justin Epperly, Christine Corriston, Gabriel Corriston and Daniel Corriston, mother Betty Skubitz, grandmother Thelma Mayhew of Tampa, FL, sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Bruce Kempin, brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Monica Skubitz, six nieces and nephews, all of Wichita.
