Marie Lesser, nee Heimbigner, was born on August 15, 1876 in Frank, Russia. In her second year she came to America with her parents, and they settled for a short time in Nebraska, and then in Walla Walla, Washington. From there they moved further to Bickleton, Washington, until 1891 when they established their home in Adams County, Washington.

In 1895 she was joined in marriage to Conrad Lesser, and they made their home on a farm near Packard, Washington. After 49 work-filled years on their farm, they moved to a more restful place, choosing their retirement home in Ritzville, Washington. Unfortunately she was unable to enjoy her new home due to poor health. Her heart condition reminded her that our earthly home is fragile and temporary. But the Lord does not leave you unprepared, as you leave your home on earth and seek the home that He has built that awaits you in heaven.

On December 15, while doing housework, she suffered a heart attack and passed away suddenly, at the age of 72 years and 4 months. She leaves behind her grieving husband, two sons, Sam at Packard, and Dan who lives with his brother, a daughter Dena in the rest home in Ritzville, one grandchild, and a brother Henry Heimbigner at Dryden, WA. Three children preceded her in death. The Lord provides comfort and support to those left behind. Ritzville, Washington. H. Neutzmann, Pastor."
