Bernice Elizabeth Harmon, a Clarkston homemaker, died Wednesday at Clarkston. She was 75. The cause of death is unknown pending a physician's certification.
She was born March 5, 1917, in Harrington, Wash., to Francis J. and Gertha Looney Reith.
She was raised and attended high school at Harrington, where she married Vernon K. Harmon on Nov. 1, 1935.
They later moved to Clarkston, where she worked in child care. He retired in 1972, after five years as Clarkston's fire chief.
She was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her husband of Clarkston; three daughters, Gale McLaughlin of Hope, Idaho, Diane Reno of Lewiston, and Gloria Hund of Clarkston; a brother, Robert Reith of Harrington; three sisters, Louise Smith of Harrington, Lucille Richardson of Bellingham, Wash., and Mary Guske of Moscow; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Merchant Funeral Home at Clarkston.
Inurnment will be at the Harrington Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, Asotin County Unit, P.O. Box 36, Clarkston 99403, or to the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Washington State Chapter, 4800 Sand Point Way, N.E., Seattle, Wash.
