May Ratliff, 95, died Feb. 14, 1996 at the Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Eminence, Indiana on Jan. 21, 1901 to Edward and Sarah (Lewis) Truax. On Jan. 26, 1922, she married Clarence L. Ratliff who preceded her in death. The mother of six children, she was a homemaker and also a member and pianist at the Lizton United Methodist Church. She was also a 50-year member of the Pittsboro Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one brother, Lewis Truax of Mooresville; two sons, Charles E. Ratliff of Brownsburg and Donald Ratliff of Lizton; three daughters, Clara R. Zerbe of Broomfield, Colorado, Cordelia R. Collings of Lizton and Roberta R. Graham of Brownsburg; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Lee Allen Ratliff, who was missing in action during World War II.
Services were Feb. 17, 1996 at the David A. Hall Mortuary in Pittsboro with the Rev. Donna Rathburn officiating. Burial was in the K. of P. Cemetery in Lizton.
