The Rev. J.J. Allison, retired pastor of the Claude Baptist Church and the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Claude Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Brown passed away Thursday morning, April 23, 1970, in High Plains Baptist Hospital. She was a native of Grayson County and moved to Claude in 1917. Her husband, J.F. Brown, passed away in 1951. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claude.
Survivors include five sons, Thurman and Byron of Amarillo, James F. of Claude, Bruce and Meredith of Stratford; a daughter Mrs. Howard (Iris) Lowe of Big Spring; two brothers, Paul Bruce of Alanreed and Albert Bruce of Binghamton N.Y., and 22 grandchildren.
