MRS. HENRY BINGAMAN
Mrs. Henry Bingaman died at her home near Columbia, Iowa, Friday, March 24, aged 68 years, 1 month and 24 days.
Phoebe Jane Roll was born in Orange county, Indiana, February 1, 1854. She was united in marriage to Henry Bingaman in 1871 in Monroe county. The Bingamans have since made their home on a farm in Lucas county, south of Columbia.
To this union were born six children, J. C., Fred and John Bingaman, all of Monroe county; Mrs. Ida Hancock, of Lucas county; Mrs. Mary Spaur, of Marion county and Maggie, who is deceased.
There is left three brothers, W. W. Roll, of Carlisle; Henry Roll, of Marion county; and William Roll, of Des Moines; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Holman, of Des Moines; and nineteen grandchildren.
Mrs. Bingaman was converted and joined the Oakdale M.E. church when she was quite young and lived a faithful member until her death, seldom missing a church service.
The funeral services were conducted from the Oakdale M.E. church Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. by Rev. H. H. Jordan, the pastor at Columbia, assisted by Rev. Charles Morehead. Interment was made in the Oakdale cemetery.
