She was a former member of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church. Joan enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry, fishing, McDonalds Biscuits, Wheel of Fortune and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Carl Edwards.
Joan is survived by her husband Harold of Des Moines, two sons, Randy Blair (Linda) of Pleasant Hill, IA, Tim Blair of Des Moines; two brothers, Marvin E. Thomas of Cincinnati, IA, Robert Thomas (Poll) of Lewisville, TX; a sister, Diane Post (David) of Lewisville, TX, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Rosalee Foster.
