Nannie M. Freeman was the daughter of Barteamus T. Freeman and Aretta Dulcy Bullock. She had five siblings: Thomas Graham Freeman, Alma R. Freeman, John B. Freeman, Bessie Mae Freeman and Mamie Freeman.

Nannie M. Freeman married D. Vaugus Hall in about 1905.

They had three daughters: Flodell Hall, Estelle Hall and Lula Hall.

Nannie Freeman Hall also raised her sister's daughter, Zelma Mae Mackasey, as her own when her sister died in childbirth.

She was a native of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. She passed away at a South Boston hospital.
