- one of their daughters, Claudia, was born in 1897 in Pahiatua, died 1964 in Cambridge, Waikato aged 67. She had married Emil Weidenbohm
- in 1911 Claudia was in a Competition in Masterton giving a Vocal Solo for girls under 17. It says she was from Mangarawa
- a son, Reuben, was born in Pahiatua in 1902, died in 1947 aged 45. He had married Charlotte Rush Dunlop
- a daughter, Rowena was born in 1904 in Pahiatua, died 1936 in Pahiatua aged 32. She had married John McDonald Tolmie in Pahiatua in 1929
- Valentine was nominated as a Candidate for the
PAHIATUA LICENSING DISTRICT in 1903
- Fredricka died aged 71 in Patea, 1946
- Valentine died in Wellington on the 30th August 1936 aged 70

- Anna died 5th Feb 1935 in Te Aroha, Thames aged 55

In October 1892 The Pahiatua Star said that Mr Mekalick had formed another farm homestead association to take up the remaining land (about 2000 acres - 809 hectares) on the Puketoi Ranges
- Bernardine Meech published a book in 2004 entitled Under the Puketois - the story of the settlers on the eastern slopes under the Puketoi Range

In August 1896 John was in Aohanga where he had Section 14, Block V

In June 1907 the Rugby Union teams of the 'Dannevirke Thirds' and the 'Woodville Starlights' played against each other. The Dannevirke team had members of the Mekalick and Rasmussen families
