Ruth Bandy

Ruth Bandy, 80, former 10-term Roodhouse city treasurer, died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 1986 at White Hall Hospital.

She was born June 14, 1905, in Scott County, a daughter of Henry and Ella May Dodgson Hamilton.

She married Robert Bandy on Aug. 24, 1922, in Jacksonville, and he survives with three grandchildren, Mrs. David (Sharon) Bandy of Litchfield, Don of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dean of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Marge Jones of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Ornsby Hamilton of Carrollton. She was preceded in death by a son, James; three sisters; and one grandson.

She was a member of the Roodhouse First Baptist Church and worked 35 years for the Mackey Funeral Home and more recently for the Mackey-Daws Funeral Home, in addition to serving ten terms as Roodhouse city treasurer.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Roodhouse with burial in the Williams-Edwards Cemetery at Barrow.

Rev. Gerald Phillips conducted the services.

Mrs. Gladys Huff, organist, played "He" "You'll Never Wlak Alone,: and "How Great Thou Art."

Casketbearers were Steve Brant, Dale Brant, Dale Bridgewater, Eugene Jone, James Hamilton, and Stuart Daws.
