Fred Frame was from NH he moved to LA,CA in 1914 where he became a gardner for a wealthy LA family, He also became a motorcycle mechanic. He ran his first race in Ascot, CA in 1919. In 1926 he began winning races at Santa Maria. He hit the road with his race car winning a big race in Kalamazoo, Michagin. He also began racing in the NE at the AAA Fair ground Circuit from Maine to PA.
Fred Frames first race at Indianapolis was in 1927
He scored in 6 top 1o races out of 11.
In 1931 he finished second driving a Duesenberg.
Then in 1932 he purchased a Wetterwoth chassis & a Miller motor. (Racer was called Catfish) He started in 28th place & won the 1932 Indy 500 Race. His average speed was 104 MPH.
HIs final run at Indy was in 1938
Hot Shoe Frame switched to the IMCA Circit & won races all over the New England states. Until WW11.
After war 11 he became a race car owner.
His son Bob Frame was killed in a Sprint Car race in 1947 at Awatonna, Minn. Fred Frame then retired.
He was installed into the North East Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2004.
His mothers Maidain name was ? McClish.

1894 Fred was the son of Isabella McClish & Franklyn Corbath. They divorced & Isabella married Clarence James Frame.
1894 Fred Wm. Frame was 1st married to Gladys Ann Kemp . They had a son named Robert (Bob) W. Frame .Who also was a Racer car driver who was killed racing in 1947. Robert was married to Marguarite Pomatto in 1941
