Emma was the daughter of John and Mary Ann (Street) Dennison. She was born at Murley's Branch, near Flintstone. She married Issac Bateson, born in Pennsylvania about 1832, on 2 October 1855 in Allegany Co., Maryland. They had two children: John Wesley Bateson (1856-1914) and Samuel L. Bateson (1859-bef.1870). It is likely that Emma's mother, Mary Ann (Street) Dennison is also buried here, but no marker is present. It is proven that her sister Frances Ann "Fannie" (Dennison) Rohrer is buried here, but no marker is present. Isaac Bateson died an accidental death on 9 September 1874 while working on the construction of the new B&O Railroad roundhouse at New Creek Station (now Keyser), West Virginia. His place of burial is unknown.
