Born to John Henry Jackson and Eva Mary LeDerman in Nassau, Bahamas.

A man of diverse life experiences - one of thirteen children; vaudeville entertainer; growing up in a Jewish household; worked as a waiter, delivery man, factory worker, railroad worker, cook, sandblaster/steam cleaner, twelve years in the US Army as cook and MP; seven marriages; owner of hotel and nightclub; truck driver, construction worker, doorman, teacher, and friend.

He loved the Lord and scripture. His secret to a long life: "to love myself so I can love everyone else." The twinkle in his eyes and his genuine laughter will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his fourteen year canine companion, Samson; thirteen siblings; forty children; fifty-nine grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; six great-great-great-grandchildren; AND an "extended family" of friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rose Park Northpoint Ward Chapel (1460 North Morton Drive), Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Salt Lake City Cemetery next to this father.
