Private family graveside services for Lorraine Abramson will be held at the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating.

Lorraine Abramson, 90 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Lorraine was born on April 21, 1928, in Bemidji, Minnesota, the youngest of eight children born to Gilbert E. and Selma J. (Oftedahl) Moe. She received her primary education from various schools in Minnesota, and then attended Trinity Bible Institute in Minneapolis, graduating in 1945.

Following her education, Lorraine worked in children's evangelism with the American Sunday School Union in northern Minnesota, the Wisconsin Rural Missions, and the Midwest Hebrew Missions at St. Paul, Minnesota. In February of 1950, Lorraine moved to Holdrege, where she was a caregiver for children at the Christian Children's Home until her marriage.

On August 2, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wayne E. Abramson at Arcadia, Nebraska, and to this union one daughter, Sheryll Rene was born. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Lorraine worked at JM McDonald. Following Sheryll's birth, Lorraine focused her efforts on taking care of her family and tending to their home. Family was very important to Lorraine, she enjoyed family history, keeping scrapbooks, writing letters to stay in touch, and entertaining family and friends in her home. She and Wayne also enjoyed traveling together to visit family.

On January 21, 2000, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne. In later years, after the birth of her grandsons she cherished the time spent with them. She also had a special connection with her grandsons, as they all were avid Nebraska Cornhusker fans. Her faith was always at the forefront of her life. She loved reading, especially her Bible. Lorraine loved her Lord, and was a faithful member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, where she spent countless hours volunteering her time as the church librarian.

Besides her parents and husband, Wayne; Lorraine was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Hugo and Sarah Abramson; four brothers: Lawrence Moe and his two wives: Esther and Shirley; Norman Moe and his wife, Ruth; and twin brothers: Clifford and Chester Moe; three sisters: Mildred Clay and her husband, Edward; Gladys Burley and her husband, Harvey; and Doris Langness and her husband, Wilfred; brother-in-law, Dale Abramson; and sisters-in-law: LaVeda Muthart and her husband, Richard; and Arlene Nelson and her husband, Dale. Lorraine leaves to celebrate her life; her daughter, Sheryll Mills and her husband, Michael of Holdrege; two grandsons: Christopher Mills of Lincoln; and Jeremy Mills and his wife, Adrienne of Henderson, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
