SAN RAMON, Calif. - Barbara Louise (Johnson) Anderson, 87, San Ramon, Calif., and formerly of Galesburg, Ill., passed away on October 28, 2009 following an extended illness. She was born in Galesburg on Sept. 11, 1922, to Lawrence and Thelma Johnson and graduated from Galesburg Senior High School in 1940. After briefly attending Western Illinois University, she married Raymond E. Anderson, also of Galesburg, Ill., in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Barbara is survived by her three sons: Joe and wife Cherrie Anderson, Danville, Calif., Larry Anderson, Seattle, Wash., and Peter Anderson and life partner David Metoyer, Dallas, Texas. Surviving grandchildren include Samuel Anderson and wife Stephanie, Nicole Anderson, Bradley Anderson, and Matthew Anderson. Extended family include nieces, Judy Anderson, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Jean Barash, Wilson, Wyo.; and nephew, George Peterson, Galesburg, Ill.

Barb may be best remembered for her record-breaking appearance on the television show 'The Price Is Right' in the late 1950s when she became the biggest daytime money winner in the show's history. She supported her husband in his political career as well as in the operation of the family business, Ray Anderson Cleaners.

She was a long time member of the Covenant Church in Galesburg, a Rotary Ann, a Den Mother and volunteer. She was a loyal member of P.E.O. Memorials may be made to the Covenant Church music program, Galesburg, Ill. A memorial service will be held in the spring in Galesburg.
