Alberta E. "Bertie" Grohman, 87, former resident of Friendship, passed away on Nov. 1, 2009, at the Lodge Care Center in Loveland, Ohio, after a long illness.
Alberta was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church and Group II. Her husband, John; a daughter, Judith; also her parents, William and Lubina Reider; and two sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister, Doris (Denny) Goddard of Loveland, Ohio; and nieces, Cheryl (Bob) Norton, Staci (Bryan) Booth and Liz (AJ) Ludlum of Loveland, Ohio, and Kim Grohman of Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Matthew Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Daehlers.
