Helen B. Bair, 98, of Riverside, went to be with the Lord on Monday Nov. 6, 2023.

Helen was born on Sept. 3, 1925 in Cooper, Texas to William A. Pollard and Ola Thompson Pollard.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Ruby Pollard; husband, Leon L. Bair; and brother, William A. (Bill) Pollard.

She is survived by her son, William C. Bair (Myrna) of Riverside; granddaughters, Amy (Gene) of Jersey Shore, Beth of Watsontown, Erin (Lane) of Montoursville, numerous great-grandchildren; two stepgrandsons, Mike and Ryan Schreck; her sister, Cora Faye (Toby) Moody of Cooper, Texas; brother-in-law, Vernon Bair of Montoursville; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen moved to Pennsylvania upon her marriage to Leon in 1947. A few years after his passing in 1991, she moved back to Texas where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In 2014, Helen moved back to Pennsylvania with her son and daughter-in-law.

Helen worked the second shift at GTE Sylvania in Montoursville for many years.

She was also a dedicated member of The Church of Christ in South Williamsport and in Cooper, Texas.

Helen's biggest joy was spending time with her family and the family's pups. In her younger years, Helen enjoyed playing baseball. Later, she enjoyed sitting down to watch the Phillies with her granddaughter. She also loved taking scenic rides in the country, leaf peeping and traveling.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. You are invited to join the family for a small celebration of life at Perkins, Williamsport, following the service.

Helen B. (Pollard) Bair, 98, of Riverside died early Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born on Sept. 3, 1925, in Cooper, Texas, she was a daughter of the late William A. Jr. and Ola (Thompson) Pollard. She resided in Riverside for the past 12 years and previously resided in Williamsport.

Helen was employed for several years at the former Sylvania plant in Montoursville.

She attended the Church of Christ in South Williamsport. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and being with her two dogs, Bo and Roxie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon L. Bair, in 1991.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William Conrad officiating in Wildwood Cemetery, 1151 Cemetery St., Williamsport.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
