played "Girls Basketball," back in her High School Years, in Chesterhill, Morgan County, Ohio., and that she was quite good at it. And, that, at an early age, Grandma Zola self-taught herself how to sew and play the piano, and was a very talented Seamstress, who enjoyed making beautiful wedding dresses and other dresses and clothes for many of her family and friends, and also liked making doll clothes, too. And she also played the Piano at the "First Church of the Nazarene," in Newark, Licking County, Ohio; and that she was also an avid "Gardener," too.

HEATH: A funeral service for Zola J. Eckard, age 95, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Dave Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Mrs. Eckard died August 31, 2009 at her home. She was born December 10, 1913 in Chesterhill, Ohio to the late Harry A. and Glossie G. (Kane) Triplet.

Mrs. Eckard was formerly employed with the Newark City Schools, Sears, Big Bear and Westinghouse. She was a very talented seamstress and was an avid gardener. She attended First Church of the Nazarene where she played piano for several years. She and her husband wintered in Sarasota, Florida for many years.

She is survived by three children, Melvin Eckard of Newark, Dan (Deborah) Eckard of Pataskala and Bonnie (Tom) Ricciardo of Port Charlotte, Fla.; thirteen grandchildren, Gary, Jr., Larry, James, Jeanine, Mark, Matthew, Laura, Jason, Lynn, Charles, Stephanie, Tracie and Natalie; several great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard (Mary) Triplet of Chesterhill; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Eckard, who died July 19, 1991; a son, Gary Eckard; two brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, at the funeral home, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath.
