Mrs. Leafy Viola Crummett, 81, died Saturday night, Aug. 18, in King's Daughters' Hospital. She was born April 6, 1898 in Pendleton County, W. Va., a daughter of James M. and Dorothy McCray Botkin. Mrs. Crummett was a member of Crummett's Run Church of the Brethren. Her husband, J.W. Crummett, preceded her in death. Surviving are one foster-daughter, Mrs. Dayton Varner of Staunton; one sister, Mrs. Janie Grant of Staunton; one half sister, Meda Puffenbarger of Headwaters; one brother, Henry Botkin of Headwaters; one half brother, Clyde Puffenbarger of Headwaters; one foster granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews. A service was conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. H.S. Craig and Jimmy Bosserman. Burial was in Botkin Family Cemetery.
