Malcolm D. Jones was a prominent lawyer of Burke County, GA. and a planter, who married Virginia Inman who owned Magruder Plantation after the reading of her father, Allen Inman's will. Thus ownership of Magruder plantation was passed in full from the Inman family to the Jones family in 1861.
