Oval Marion Stoner, age 85, of Macks Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, October 24, 2009, in Colonial Springs Health Care, in Buffalo, Missouri. Oval was born October 23, 1924, in Urbana, Missouri, a son to Joel Fletcher Jr. and Viola Ann (Parrack) Stoner.

Oval had served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a high school teacher in the Macks Creek School District for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Macks Creek.

Oval is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; one son, David M. Stoner and his wife, April of Macks Creek, Missouri; one daughter, Carolyn A. Baker and her husband, Russ of Macks Creek, Missouri; three grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, William Dennis Stoner and Dale Andrew Stoner; three brothers, Oral W. Stoner, Orval E. Stoner and Noel Stoner; and one sister, Ota Stoner.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 26, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, in Macks Creek, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 11 a.m., in Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Macks Creek. Interment with military honors will be in Macks Creek Cemetery, in Macks Creek, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Macks Creek Building Fund or Gideon's Bible Fund.

Arrangements have been placed under the direction of Hedges-Scott Funeral Home of Macks Creek, Missouri.
